CAUTION: Absolutely NO BROW/FACE WAXING if you’ve been using antibiotics/ topical ointments or chemical/acid peels for acne or fine lines 5 days prior to appointment.

Some meds are blood thinners which can increase chance of bruising. Keep in mind its difficult to predict how skin will react to waxing (e.g. bruising or peeling) no matter how many precautions are taken.

Water Retention, illness, exhaustion, week preceding menstruation, caffeine and alcohol consumption can also be a factor in a waxing treatment being more stingy and sensitive.

Taking 2 anti inflammatories eg. Advil/Ibuprofen/Motrin before waxing can help reduce discomfort and inflammation.

Taking an antihistamine prior to or after waxing can help prevent swelling and hives if you are prone to this.

Bikini/Brazilian Waxing can still take place during your period if wearing a tampon.

Shavers must have a minimum of 2-3 weeks growth, hair should be at least a 1/4 inch long. It may take several treatments after you have shaved to be stubble free and to have the full benefits of waxing. (Please note that stubble will not be tweezed) Routine waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and helps minimize irritation. Regular waxing will leave you with baby smooth skin and hair that grows slower, thinner and sparser. It is recommended you wax every 4-5 weeks to have these results.

NO DOUBLE DIPPING!!! To ensure superior hygiene and sanitation, non latex gloves are worn and a new applicator is used each time wax is applied to the skin.

HOW TO AVOID A FOLLICULITIS BREAKOUT AND OTHER UNCOMFORTABLE AND UNSIGHTLY ISSUES:

After a Brazilian/Bikini or torso wax service it is highly recommended to avoid activities involving heat (hot tubs, saunas, hot showers, sun tanning) and friction (sexual activity, strenuous exercise) for 24-48 hours. Waxing exfoliates & opens the pores making skin vulnerable to irritation by extreme temperatures and infection by bacteria.

Do not use scrubs or loofa’s for at least 24-48 hours after waxing as they might further irritate your skin.

Avoid tight clothing in the waxed area which can cause heat and friction. Depending on the wax service consider wearing fresh breathable cotton underwear or a fresh cotton t-shirt immediately after the wax.

Apply the appropriate products recommended to you below for your after wax treatment and to maintain the integrity of the skin throughout the after wax and growth period. This will keep the skin bacteria free and exfoliated to avoid ingrowns, pimples and bumps.
